When I was six years old, my three-year-old cousin had just arrived in Australia to visit. One day, during a family gathering at our house, he went missing. There were several family members at the home—my parents, sister, two aunts and uncles, and three cousins—so a total of 10 people, not counting my cousin. Despite our best efforts, we couldn’t locate him. Given that we lived on a property with open space, he could have wandered off, so we expanded our search.

While searching the property, my cousin, who was close to my age, and I went to the swimming pool area. That’s where we found our three-year-old cousin floating in the pool on his back. Though he was still alive, he had started to turn blue. We quickly pulled him out of the water, and thankfully, he made a full recovery after being taken to the hospital. He was incredibly lucky we found him when we did, but unfortunately, that’s not always the case.
